Jessica is an associate with Schaerr | Jaffe LLP, specializing in constitutional and appellate matters. She has argued appeals in the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia involving the First Amendment, standing, and Virginia procedural rules. She has drafted appellate briefs in the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Virginia, as well as amicus briefs in the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States on election law and religious liberty.
Before joining Schaerr | Jaffe LLP, Jessica was the John Marshall Fellow of the Virginia Office of the Solicitor General, where she represented the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Fourth Circuit and Virginia’s appellate courts. Before that, she was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where she litigated antitrust cases, drafted pre-trial and post-trial motions, and deposed a company CEO. She was also a litigator at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Australia and Of Counsel at Fusion Law PLLC, where drafted regulatory comments and researched ESG, DEI, and finance and banking regulations. In law school, she externed for the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York.
Jessica graduated from Harvard Law School, where she was the senior articles editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and a member of the Chamber Music Society. She has guest lectured at the University of Sydney Law School on Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. She is fluent in Mandarin.
